This directive sets high requirements for materials in contact with drinking water and tightens limit values such as for lead. The aim of the legislation is to prevent harmful substances such as lead from coming into contact with drinking water. Materials containing lead may therefore no longer be used for drinking water installations. Manufacturers, retailers and tradespeople will have to make changes in order to meet the requirements.
